The beat calms the room
Binaural beats can lower anxiety before procedures, ease acute pain, and nudge the brain toward calm-focused states. Real, but modest - an audio scaffold, not magic.

Hypnosis does the work
Structured hypnotic suggestion has strong meta-analytic evidence for pain, procedural anxiety, IBS, and habit change. It's the active ingredient.

Repetition rewrites the response
Home-practice studies show self-hypnosis with daily audio can match many clinician sessions - when the arc is stable and the cue is rehearsed.
Part 1 - The audio
A phantom third tone your brain builds itself.
Play a 250 Hz sine wave into your left ear and a 256 Hz sine wave into your right. Your brain doesn't hear two tones. It hears one gentle 6 Hz pulse - the difference.
That phantom pulse is the binaural beat. Under headphones, brain activity has a small tendency to drift toward that rhythm. Not hypnosis by itself. Not brainwashing. Closer to a metronome the mind can lean on.
Stereo headphones are required - the effect can't survive a speaker.
Part 2 - The frequencies
We tune to the range where change is easiest.
Theta
4–8 Hz
6 Hz
Calm-focused. Suggestible. Where daily practice lives.
The 6 Hz range is the most-replicated finding in recent binaural research: it improves calmness and focus in short self-administered sessions, and pairs well with pink-noise masking. It's our default carrier for daily programmes.
Alpha
8–13 Hz
10 Hz
Open awareness. Where affirmations land.
Alpha shows up when the mind is awake but unguarded - after the induction, before deep sleep. Suggestions delivered here bypass the internal editor without needing to overpower it.
What we won't claim: The old "40 Hz gamma = laser focus" story doesn't hold up cleanly - one 2024 study of a 40 Hz beat found no effect on attention. Frequency choice matters, and it's more parameter- sensitive than the internet lets on. We stay in the ranges with the strongest replicated evidence.
Part 3 - The arc
Every track walks the same well-worn path.
The research is clear on one thing: the therapeutic suggestions are the active ingredient, not the theatrics. Our sessions keep the arc stable and vary only the content - exactly what recent hypnosis literature recommends for scalable daily audio.

Hypnosis for pain
Umbrella review of 49 meta-analyses (2024): most robust effects for pain and medical procedures. Acute pain relief ≈ 0.54 SD vs standard care.
Hypnosis for procedural anxiety
20-RCT meta-analysis (2025): SMD −0.43 for anxiety, −0.35 for pain in invasive medical procedures. Lower heart rate and BP. Minimal adverse effects.
Self-hypnosis with home practice
Systematic review: two sessions of self-hypnosis training plus home audio matched eight clinician-led sessions in chronic low back pain.
Binaural beats for anxiety
2025 meta-analysis of 15 RCTs: significant reduction in perioperative anxiety, plus reductions in postop pain and heart rate. Heterogeneity is high.
6 Hz for calm focus
2026 PLOS One + 2024 ERP study: brief 5-minute sessions at 6 Hz on a 250 Hz carrier improved calmness and focus; pink-noise-masked 6 Hz preferred subjectively.
Binaural beats for attention/memory
2023 meta-analysis: overall medium effect (g = 0.40), but conflicting results across theta and beta protocols. Parameter-sensitive.
Beats alone as 'hypnosis induction'
No mature modern RCT literature on binaural beats + hypnosis as a combined intervention. Plausible, commercially common, not proven synergistic.

Each day is roughly 20–25 minutes - the range with the best evidence for self-administered hypnosis (successful daily 20-minute protocols exist for hot flashes, MS fatigue, and IBS).
Safety & honesty
The things we will not do to you.
No trauma excavation
Recovered memory work, age regression, and complex parts work stay out of daily audio - the literature is explicit that these belong in clinician-led care.
No claims of curing anything
This is not medical treatment. It's an evidence-informed practice that pairs beautifully with therapy, medication, and real life - not a replacement for any of them.
Volume kept sane
Long sessions stay well below 80 dB equivalent, in line with WHO safe-listening guidance.
Not while driving
Headphones only, seated or lying down. Never behind the wheel or operating machinery.
